Police name climber who died following Cairgorms fall

25-year-old Owen Griffths was airlifted to hospital on Tuesday

A climber who died following a fall in the Cairngorms this week has been named by police.

25-year-old Owen Griffiths from Evesham in Worcestershire was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after getting into difficulty in the Coire an t-Sneachda area on Tuesday February 21.

He passed away as a result of his injuries later that night.

Police are thanking mountain rescue team personnel who helped with the rescue operation.
