UPDATE: John has been traced safe and well by officers this afternoon (Sunday, December 12).

Police are appealing for help to trace a missing 82-year-old man, from near Kingussie, who was last seen yesterday afternoon.

John Anderson was last seen leaving his home in Dunachton Road, Kincraig at around 4pm.

He is described as 6ft 4ins with a thin build, grey hair and usually wearing metal-rimmed glasses.

It is unknown what clothing John was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

However, he is known to wear a navy blue fleece type cap, dark jacket, woolly jumper and jeans frequently.

It is understood that he left his home in his green Land Rover Freelander, with the registration number SY64 NLR.

Officers have searched the area including local shops that John frequents, as well as talking with friends and relatives, but there have been no further sightings so far.

Sergeant Dale Hansen said: "It's unlike Mr Anderson to be out of contact and to leave home for this length of time without making someone aware, so we are concerned at this time for his well-being.

“If you have seen Mr Anderson recently, or his car, then please contact officers via 101 quoting reference number 1435 of Sunday, 12 December, 2021.”
