Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in Elgin.

The incident took place in the Tyock Industrial Estate area at around 10:45pm on Saturday.

An 18-year-old male victim was unhurt but shaken by the incident.

Detective Constable Robert WIlliams, who is investigating the incident, said: "The man responsible has been described as being approximately 6ft tall, heavy build, wearing a navy or black Reebok hoody and spoke with a local accent.

"It's understood that his face was partially covered at the time to disguise his himself. Despite that, someone nearby may have seen a male loitering before or after the incident and I would encourage anyone with information to come forward."
