Pilot forced to shut down engine and make emergency landing at Aberdeen airport
A full emergency was declared at Aberdeen Airport this afternoon as an aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing.
The flight from Glasgow to Sumburgh was carrying 10 passengers and three crew members on board when it suffered from a "technical fault".
The pilot was then forced to shut down the aircraft's right engine and make an emergency landing.
Emergency services rushed to the terminal, as the plane made its approach.
It eventually landed safely at 2:45pm.
The full extent of the problem is not known yet, and experts are said to be examining the aircraft.
Passengers on board have been transferred to a later flight to Sumburgh.
