Pensioner on mobility scooter victim of Forres hit and run

Investigations are underway after a woman on a mobility scooter was hit by a van on Forres High Street.

The 72-year-old was taken to Dr Gray's following the incident just after 7pm on Saturday night.

Police say the van driver left before officers arrived on the scene.

They're urging anyone with relevant information on the incident to get in touch.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 7.15pm on Saturday, 12 March, 2022, we received a report of a crash involving a van and a mobility scooter on High Street, Forres.

"The 72-year-old female rider of the mobility scooter was taken by ambulance to Dr Gray's Hospital for treatment.

"The van driver left the scene prior to police arrival and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and driver.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 3018 of 12 March, 2022."
