Pensioner critically injured in Aberdeenshire motorbike accident

A 70-year-old man is fighting for his life after crashing his motorbike in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened around 2.00pm on Wednesday, 28 August, 2024, on the B9022 Portsoy to Gordonstown road.

The rider was taken by helicopter to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment, where his condition is described as critical.

The road was closed for around nine and a half hours to allow investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 11.45pm.

Sergeant Sarah Ritchie said: “Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with any information which could assist us to get in touch."
