A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle on the A9.
A pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle on the A9.
Police were called to the scene at Evelix in Dornoch at around 2.30am on Monday.
On arrival, they found that the male pedestrian had died from the injuries he suffered in the crash.
The A9 was closed following the collision, with diversions in place via the A949 at Clashmore, the A836 to Lairg and the A839 to the Mound.
A force spokesman said: "Police Scotland are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen any pedestrians walking on the carriageway prior to 2.30am."
