Pedestrian's injuries 'not life-threatening' after crash with HGV

A man's sustained 'non life-threatening' injuries after being involved in a collision with a lorry on the A96.

Emergency services rushed to the scene close to the Barn Church Road junction at Balloch, shortly after 05:35 this morning.

A 31-year-old pedestrian was taken to Raigmore hospital for treatment.

The road was reopened shortly after 9.10am.

Sergeant Neil Macdonald of the Highland and Islands Road Policing Unit is urging anyone with video footage of the incident to come forward.

He said: “We are working to establish the full circumstances of this collision and would urge anyone who has any information to get in touch.

“We would be particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the road around the time of the incident.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0409 of 14 February, 2023.”
