Caithness hospital overnight Minor Injuries Unit closed over the New Year
Dunbar Hospital’s overnight Minor Injury Unit is temporarily suspended.

From Friday 29 December 2017, the MIU service/Urgent Care unit in Thurso will be closed for three days.
The hospital reports this is due to staffing pressures.
The MIU/Urgent Care Centre will be closed from 7pm to 7am on Friday 29th December, Saturday 30th December and Sunday 31st December 2017.
The MIU’s daytime service from 7am in the morning to 7pm in the evening will remain unaffected, and the Out of Hours Service will continue as normal.
Members of the public will be able to contact the on-call Out of Hours doctor between 7pm in the evening to 7am in the morning by calling NHS 24 on 111.
This decision was taken so the nursing staff available ensure that the current in-patients at the hospital are safely cared for.
