A woman in her 60s has been taken to hospital after a car crashed through an Inverness pharmacy.

Emergency services were called out to the Lochardil area of the city, beside a Primary school, at around 2.20pm today.

The driver of the car involved was taken to Raigmore as a precaution and nobody else was injured.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.20pm on Wednesday, 22 January, 2025, we were called to a report of a car crashing into a building on Morven Road, Inverness.

"Emergency services attended and the female driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"There are no other reported injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 1417 hours today to attend an incident on Movern Road in Inverness.

"We dispatched a number of resources to the scene, our first arriving within five minutes, and transported one female patient in her 60s to Raigmore Hospital."

"They are the best pharmacy I've ever experienced"

Erica Salmon lives nearby and uses Lochardil Pharmacy and Travel Clinic on a regular basis.

She outlined how a large presence of emergency services isn't a normal sight for the area.

Erica said: "I was in disbelief.

"My son told me as he walked beside it with the school.

"I was just horrified and immediately concerned for all the staff."

Erica also told us how much she values the pharmacy.

She added: "That's our local chemist, I'm in there all the time.

"They are the best pharmacy I've ever experienced.

"I've had a lot of different pharmacies and the people just treat you so well and I just really care about them all."
