Shaw's sights on fresh start at Ross County
Limited openings for Oli Shaw at Hibs sees the striker hit the high road for Dingwall.
New Ross County signing Oli Shaw believes he has relocated to the Highlands to better develop his game under managers Steven Ferguson and Stuart Kettlewell.
The 21-year-old made a brief appearance in the midweek 0-0 draw with Hearts, after having just nine appearances for former club Hibernian this season.
'I was good to get everything over the line quickly and also to get involved with the game (against Hearts)'
'The 15-20 minutes felt good, and obviously if I'd got a goal it would have been brilliant, but hopefully there's more to come'
Shaw joins other January signings Coll Donaldson and Jordan Tillson who all featured on Wednesday night as County brace for a busy time over the coming weeks in their fixtures.
'It worked out best for both parties. For me, it's a fresh start, I know how much Ross County want me at the club. At Hibs the lack of game-time was a frustration'
'Both managers have already spoken to me about how they see me developing and hopefully I'll be able to repay that faith'
Shaw had been at Easter Road since 2016 and has also featured for Scotland U19s and U21s, and his talents had already caught the eye of the Ross County management in the past.
'They are always keen to give younger players their chance and they've watched me through the development leagues when they were involved in that side before. They've known me for a wee while and stayed in contact with me'
Next up for Ross County are the matches against Celtic and Rangers, with Shaw keen to be a part of that challenge.
'Coming up here I hope I can play well and get involved with the first-team. There are some big games coming up and nobody really expects much from us, but they're always ones that you relish and look forward to'
