David Ngog has penned terms with Ross County until the end of the season following a brief spell on trial for the Staggies. County boss Owen Coyle had previously worked with the Frenchman at Bolton and realises what a major coup it is to take the 28-year-old to the Highlands.
"It was never about money with David", said Coyle, "I think he would have attracted interest from around Europe and he's a player who during his time has commanded vast sums of money"
"He knows he's here at a club where there are good people and he can work hard to get back to his full level of fitness"
Ngog suffered a bad knee injury at Panionios when playing for the Greek Superleague side, but prior to that he'd been back in his homeland with Reims.
"I just want to show every day what I can do and hopefully we can get some good results for the team" - David Ngog
A spell at Clairefontaine (the French national football centre) helped Ngog return from his cruciate ligament problem, with the former Liverpool, Bolton and Swansea player eager for his chance again.
David said, "I'm happy with the progress and I'm building up my fitness just looking to get better-and-better. There's some good quality in the squad here. Hopefully with my strength and Premier League experience I just want to show every day what I can do and hopefully we can get some good results for the team."
"It's a very good club, great facilities, and the manager's a big part of me signing here"
"I know Owen Coyle from Bolton and I thank him for his confidence in me and I just want to be ready as soon as possible"
"It's a new challenge - every challenge is interesting - and I have the belief that we will do well"
