New traffic restrictions go live on part of the A9 today.
A 40mph average speed limit will be rolled out on the route as work gets underway on the A9 Dualling: Kincraig to Dalraddy project.
The traffic restrictions are expected to remain in place for the duration of the works.
A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: “As part of the A9 Dualling works traffic management and a 40 mph speed limit is required to ensure that the works are carried out safety for the benefit of road users and the workforce.
“We would like to advise motorists travelling on the A9 between Kincraig and Dalraddy that there may be some disruption due to these works and would ask them to plan their journeys in advance.”
The A9 Dualling Programme will see around 80 miles of upgraded road being delivered between Perth and Inverness by 2025.
The £35 million Kincraig to Dalraddy section of the A9 is the first major project of the A9 Dualling Programme to get under way and will be carried out by a joint venture of Wills Bros Civil Engineering and John Paul Construction.
