A video has been uploaded to YouTube showing a mysterious large object traveling along the Thames through central London, with many speculating that it could be the LOCH NESS MONSTER.
The footage was shot by Penn Plate as he was travelling on the Emirates Air Line, a cable car that crosses the river near the O2 Arena in Greenwich.
In the clip, which was uploaded last week, a “creature” can briefly be seen in the water before sinking below the surface.
"This was on the cable car in Greenwich yesterday. Something huge was moving under the water and then briefly surfaced," he said. "Are there whales in the Thames? Or is it some weird submarine?"
The clip, which has been watched more than 750,000 times, has attracted more than 250 comments on the video sharing website.
Opinion is split on whether the footage was doctored with responses to the video ranging from “Lochness monster... confirmed!” and “We found the loch ness monster guys!” to “This is obviously fake”.
Here in the north of Scotland we are used to hearing about Nessie sightings as there have been many over the years (1076 according to the Official Loch Ness Sightings Register), but could this be the first time she has been spotted somewhere other than Loch Ness?
Perhaps Nessie was just enjoying a city break...
