Nairn County extend offer of support during coronavirus outbreak
Club say players can aid those needing help in self-isolation
Highland League club Nairn County have offered their support for members of the community having to self-isolate.
Station Park secretary Ian Finlayson said it's the least the club could do after supporters and the wider community rallied behind it when mired in financial difficulty some time ago.
"We had to go out to them, and they stepped up, and we remember that"
"We've been able to use that fund and pay wages, but now we're looking to reach out to businesses and say - can we help you?"
"At the moment people are losing their jobs, going out of business, so football in the grand scheme of things is not that important"
The Highland League, like many other tiers of Scottish Football, is in lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
With that in mind, and with players out-of-action, Mr Finlayson said, "We've got people who can help. If you're in self-isolation we can pick up shopping or walk your dog"
Nairn said it would use social media to promote local businesses facing challenges due to coronavirus.
