Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital following A82 crash

A passenger on the bike was also taken to Raigmore following the collision near Invermoriston

A 70-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a collision involving a motorbike and a pick-up on the banks of Loch Ness.

Emergency services rushed out to the scene of the incident near Invermoriston yesterday shortly after 4:45pm.

The crash involved involved a black Toyota Hilux and a blue and white BMW R1200RS, with the bike rider airlifted to Raigmore.

A 57-year-old woman, who was riding pillion, was taken by ambulance to the same hospital.

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a crash involving a motorcycle and a pick-up on the A82 near Invermoriston.

The driver of the pick-up, a 52-year-old man, was not injured.

Police Scotland are urging anyone with relevant information to get in touch with them.

Sergeant Doug Scott said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who can help to get in touch.

“If you were in the area at the time and have information, including dash-cam, that could assist with our investigation then please make contact with us.”
