More than 50 North-East drivers caught speeding over weekend
One man was caught driving 127 mph in a 60 mph limit
Drivers across the North East are being reminded to stay within the limit, following a "high level" of speeding last weekend.
Police say 55 people were caught between Friday and Sunday.
A 25-year-old man was clocked driving at 127 mph on the B9089 between Kinloss and Burghead.
Another man (32) was spotted driving 107mph in a 70mph limit on the A96 between Blackburn and Inverurie with a 57-year-old man caught driving 101 mph in a 60pmh limit on the A96 between Colpy and Huntly.
15 of the 55 caught will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal whilst the others were given a fixed penalty.
Officers say the motorists caught have shown a "clear disregard for the possible consequences".
Road Policing Sergeant Pete Henderson said: "The dangers of speeding are well-known and is a major contributory factor to serious and fatal crashes.
"The speeds at which these motorists were detected shows a clear disregard for the possible consequences.
"Their actions jeopardise the safety of other road users as well as themselves and any passengers.
"Officers will continue to patrol the road network to deter and detect illegal driving behaviour to keep the public safe."
