A care home in Moray specialising in respite and dementia has been served notice to make urgent improvements.

Spynie Care Home in Elgin has until January 10th to address the issues raised by the Care Inspectorate.

Concerns have been raised in six areas. Among the concerns is the care of any wounds, as well as skin assessments.

Adequate trained staff cover has also been raised, as well as the provision for the health, safety and well-being of residents.

The notice said that residents must receive 'high quality care'.

Operator Intobeige was previously told to make improvements in June 2018.

In a statement to MFR News, they have responded by saying, 'We take all inspection feedback seriously and are putting thorough measures in place to ensure quality of care and peace of mind for our residents and their families'

Failure to address the concerns raised by the Care Inspectorate carries the threat of cancellation of the home's registration.
