UPDATE: Man seriously injured following A9 crash

A driver's been seriously injured following a two car crash on the A9.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, five miles north of Aviemore, after reports came through just before 1pm.

A man's been taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for several hours to allow for investigation work, but it has now re-opened.

A statement from Police Scotland on social media said: "The A9 has reopened following a 2 car crash around 5 miles north of Aviemore that happened around 12.50pm today.

"Emergency services attended and a man, the driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with serious injuries."
