Man suffers head injury after being hit by car in Inverness

A man was left needing hospital treatement after being hit by a car in Inverness.

Emergency services were called to Tower Road on the outskirts of the city at around 6.20am, where a man was struck by a Volkswagen Passat.

He was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment for a head injury.

The road remained shut for much of the morning near the junction with Murray Road while police investigated the crash.
