Man Rescued From Aviemore House Fire
Fire Crews have rescued a man from a burning building in Aviemore.
Firefighters rescued a man from a house fire in the Milton Park area of Aviemore this morning. The call was received by control at 10.37am and appliances from Kingussie, Aviemore and Grantown on Spey were sent to the scene. On arrival crews were faced with a fire on the first floor of a two storey property. Crews located a man on the first floor and rescued him from the building. He was placed in the care of paramedics and treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters extinguished the fire and used a thermal imaging camera to check for any remaining hot spots before ventilating the property. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing. Group Manager for Highlands and Islands, John MacDonald, said: "Across the Highlands and Islands Scottish Fire and Rescue Service continues to respond to weather related incidents. "We are assisting partner agencies in order to keep our communities safe. "At the same time we are maintaining operational resilience and responding to life critical incidents across the north."
