The victim of Sunday's two car crash on the A98 has been named.

Brian Lawrence of Cullen was killed at the Findochty junction. The passenger from Mr Lawrence's vehicle (a 73-year-old woman) and the 50-year-old man driving the other car, remain in hospital.

Mr Lawrence was the driver of the blue Rover 75 car and Police are still appealing for people who saw that vehicle, or the silver Renault Megane which was also involved, to come forward.

Mr Lawrence's son, Mark, has released a statement on behalf of his family:

"My dad was well known about the area, he was always able to help anyone in need of his electrical skills or anything. We are devastated about his death, and would like to thank all the emergency services that tried to save him."
