Man found injured in Inverness city centre

A man has been found injured on an Inverness street during the early hours of this morning.

View Place has been closed and Police have been on the scene since just before 4:30am

The extent of the man's injuries is not known at this stage.

The road is set to remain closed for a number of hours.

Police remain at the scene on View Place

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.25am on Tuesday November 1, officers were called to a report of an injured man on View Place, Inverness.

“The 35-year-old was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”

Earlier today Police urged the public to avoid the area.

A statement on their social media said: "Police Scotland is advising motorists that View Place is closed between Castle Street and Castle Road, Inverness due to an ongoing incident.

"Members of the public are advised to avoid the area meantime."
