Man dies in house fire in Thurso
Fire crews were called early Thursday morning to Bank street.
A fire broke out on Thursday 7 February morning, with emergency services called around 7.20am.
The blaze was extinguished and fire crews recovered a body from inside the flat on Bank Street in Thurso.
The man is still to be formally identified but his next of kin are aware.
A joint investigation involving Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service will take place in due course.
Detective Inspector Scott Macdonald said: 'First and foremost, our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this time.
'We are in the early stages of establishing the full circumstances of this fire and these enquiries are currently ongoing.'
