A man's died in a fishing accident off the coast of Sheltand.

The man in his 40s was working on the Banff-registered Beryl when he fell overboard yesterday lunchtime.

It happened 20 miles from Shetland - and the crew of a nearby oil support vessel the Caledonian Victory rushed to help when the alarm was raised.

He was pulled from the water, and airlifted to hospital in Lerwick - but he couldn't be saved.

It's just a few months since three fishermen died when the Ocean Way from Fraserburgh sank in the North Sea.
