Man Detained In Nairn Burn Investigation

Police are holding a man in his 20's after another man sustained serious burns in Nairn on Tuesday.

Police investigating the burning of a man in Nairn have detained another man in connection.

The 34 year old sustained leg injuries in what was described as a 'deliberate act'.

He was found in the Tower Court area around 22:44pm on Tuesday and is now being treated at a specialist unit in Livingston.

It's understood he's in a stable condition.

A man in his 20's has been detained in relation to the incident.

A Police spokesperson said: "As part of ongoing enquiries into a reported serious assault in Nairn where a 34 year-old man received burns to his lower body, Police Scotland can confirm that a man in his twenties is currently in custody in connection with the incident. "The injured man remains at St. John's Hospital in Livingston, where he is reported to be in a stable condition. "High visibility patrols continue to be carried out in the Nairn area to provide reassurance to members of the public."
