A man is fighting for his life after a crash in Moray.

The accident happened at 4.30pm on Wednesday, 13 April, 2022, on the B9013, Lossiemouth to Lhanbryde road.

A blue Toyota Yaris travelling west collided with a grey HGV tipper lorry travelling east.

The 52-year-old male driver of the car was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the lorry was not injured.

The road was closed for around eight hours to allow for crash investigation and recovery of the vehicles.

Road Policing Sergeant Steve Manson said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash or who may have seen either vehicle to get in touch. I would also ask anyone with dashcam footage which may assist to contact us.

“I am particularly keen to trace a vehicle which was driving in front of the car just prior to the crash. The vehicle was not involved but the occupant may have information which could assist.”
