Man charged with attempted murder after OAP left seriously injured in Forres

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a pensioner was left seriously injured in Moray.

Police were called to the Oyster Catcher Close area of Forres last night after receiving reports a woman had been assaulted.

An 84-year-old was taken to Raigmore hospital where she remains seriously hurt.

A 25-year-old man is due to appear in court tomorrow.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10pm on Sunday, 28 August, 2022, police were called to the Oyster Catcher Close area of Forres, following the report of an 84-year-old woman being assaulted.

"The woman was taken to Raigmore Hospital, where she remains with serious injuries.

"A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 30 August, 2022."
