Man charged in connection with murder of woman in the Highlands
The 33-year-old is due to appear in court today
A man has been charged in connection with the death of a 66-year-old woman in Culnakirk, near Drumnadrochit.
The 33-year-old man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today, as Police have confirmed they are treating the elderly woman's death as murder.
At around 3:40pm on Monday, officers were called to an address in Culnakirk.
The death was being treated as unexplained until a post mortem was carried out.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 66-year-old woman in Culnakirk, by Drumnadrochit. Officers were called to an address around 3.40pm on Monday, 7 December.
"The death is being treated as murder.
"The 33-year-old man is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today."
