Man charged with dangerous driving thanks to dash cam footage
A man has been charged with dangerous driving after dashboard camera footage of an overtaking manoeuvre was posted on social media.
The 47-year-old has been reported to the procurator fiscal in Elgin over the footage filmed on the A941 Lossiemouth to Elgin road on Tuesday March 8.
Police were alerted to the dash cam footage and have described the incident as a 'dangerous overtake'.
Sergeant Colin Matheson said: 'Road users who act irresponsibly and put themselves and other people at risk should be aware that dash cams are now in common use in all types of vehicles and are capable of recording high quality images which can be used as evidence by the police. This incident is a perfect example of this.'
