Man, 78, dies after crash involving van and car near Huntly

A 78-year-old man has died following a crash involving a van and a car in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called out to the scene of the crash on the A96, near Huntly, at around 11am this morning.
A black Skoda Camiq and a white Iveco box van were involved in the collision.
The car driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland have said there were no other reported injuries and the road is still closed with diversions in place.
Earlier today, the force posted on social media outlining how the A96 was shut from the roundabout with the A97 in Huntly due to a crash.
Sergeant Pete Henderson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man that has died and the other driver involved in this incident.
“Thanks to the members of the public that stopped to provide assistance and other road users for their patience.
“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances is ongoing and I would urge anyone with information, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area, to get in touch.”
