A Macduff shop worker's been left "shaken" after a robber threatened them on Thursday night.

But the slim white man, who spoke with a local accent and was wearing a black jacket and black trousers, left Tang's Chinese Takeaway empty handed.

Police Scotland's confirmed a search is underway to trace the robber who struck at the Crook O'Ness business around 9.20pm last night.

Detective Sergeant Sam Buchan told MFR News: "No one was hurt during this incident and nothing was taken, however the shop worker involved was obviously shaken by what happened.

"If anyone was in the area of Crook O'Ness Street last night and recalls seeing someone matching the description of the suspect or knows anything about the incident, I would ask that they contact us with information quoting reference 4097 of 29 March."

Information can also be given to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 by anyone who would prefer to remain anonymous.
