Staff and readers alike suffer near-miss in structural incident at the Farraline Park facility

Inverness Library had to close on Monday (25th September) when a piece of rubble fell into a public area. The incident occurred around 3.30pm with the library since closed to the public.
A spokesperson for High Life Highland said: “In the interests of customer and staff safety a decision has been taken to close Inverness Library while investigations are commenced following a piece of rubble falling through the ceiling and landing at the edge of a public area"
"No-one was injured but as a precaution customers and staff were evacuated from the building. Maintenance staff from The Highland Council are on site and will carry out a full inspection after which the re-opening of the library will be reviewed"
