Efforts are continuing around the Glencoe area to trace missing climber Ed Davies (39) with the weekend bringing together members of Glencoe, Oban, Lochaber and RAF Mountain Rescue Teams.

In addition there were SARDA dogs, police officers and the UK Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 951.

Areas searched include Aonach Dubh a Ghlinne, Meall Mhor, River Coe and Signal Rock. However, Ed remains missing and officers are renewing the appeal for anyone walking or climbing in the area to report anything that may assist the search effort.

The search is being reviewed but will continue this week. Sergeant Andy Bilton said: “As each day passes Edward’s family and all those involved in the search become increasingly concerned for his welfare. Edward is an experienced hillwalker and is likely to be well equipped for the outdoors"

“We urge anyone planning to walk in the Glencoe area to be mindful of the search activity and report anything that could help us locate Edward. Our search and rescue partners are thanked for their assistance to date and going forward.”

Edward is described as white, 5’11" in height, slim build with cropped dark brown hair which is longer on top and is likely to be wearing a blue waterproof jacket.

It is believed Edward planned a hike in the area of Sgùrr na h-Ulaidh, Glencoe, on Sunday 8th May but has not been in contact with friends or family since. Ed has access to a white Toyota Aygo car, which was parked near to the Glencoe visitor centre. This vehicle has since been uplifted by Police.
