Local Mum Appeals For Help To Save Daughter's Life

Published 28th Apr 2015

A North East mum is appealing for help to raise funds in order to send her daughter to the US for life-saving treatment.

Last year 3 year old Eileid Paterson was admitted to hospital after having difficulty breathing.

Unfortunately scan results showed that she had Stage 4 High Risk neuroblastoma.

Like more than half of children diagnosed with neuroblastoma, the cancer had spread throughout Eileidh’s body by the time it was discovered.

So far Eileidh has endured chemotherapy, surgery, high dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplant, radiotherapy and immunotherapy.

Eileidh’s family are urgently fundraising so that she can access a clinical trial in the US where she’ll receive an experimental drug which is believed to reduce the risk of relapse.

In order to make it possible, the Eileidh's family must raise £100,000 by June.

So far donations have reached nearly £20,000, but there is still a bit to go.
