Highland kids as young as five are missing out on “normal” childhoods because they’re caring for loved ones at home.

That's according to the charity Connecting Carers, they claim more than 1,600 children and young people are among 32,000 unpaid carers in the region.

That a 50 per cent rise since 2001.
