LISTEN: Volunteers clear flood debris in Macduff

A few weeks on from some of the worst flooding in recent memory, a group of locals have helped to remove the debris from one stretch of coastline.

A few weeks on from some of the worst flooding in recent memory, a group of locals have helped to remove the debris from one stretch of coastline.

Around 60 volunteers, including Aberdeenshire Council and colleagues from Banff Day Services, Macduff Harbour, Waste Services and the ranger service, as well as a number of Friends of Macduff Marine Aquarium joined forces to clean up a section of beach between Pennan & Turiff.

They cleaned a load of rubbish and really made a difference to the beach by the aquarium in Macduff and at the mouth of the Deveron river.

It just goes to show what can be achieved when people work together and all the volunteers were given a free ticket for the aquarium as a thank you for all the hard work carried out.
