LISTEN: Tain's Papal Bull Fund Reaches Goal
More than £1,000 has been raised to restore the historic document.
A crowdfunding campaign to restore a historic Highland document has reached its goal.
It took 2 and 1/2 days to raise over £1,000 for Tain's Papal Bull.
The appeal was sparked by fears the 500 year old document was falling into disrepair.
The artefact is thought to have established Tain as a religious centre.
MFR Reporter Derek Ferguson speaks with Tain Museum volunteer Elizabeth Fraser about the campaign...
Tain Museum volunteer Elizabeth Fraser said: "I got the idea when I visited my son, who work in PR, in Austrailia.
"I asked him to help me write letters to various business, and he said 'mum, that's not how you do it nowadays'.
"He showed me how to set up a crowdfunding page and it was honestly like standing at the deep end of a swimming pool.
"We're going to use the extra money for promoting the document as an attraction.
"We would like to have multilingual translations made, into Spanish, Gaelic or German.
"I want to thank everyone who donated for their help and support."
