Ross County forward Craig Curran looks to put aside the pain of last term to be part of another historic season with the Staggies.

The 26-year-old impressed in the opening games of 2015-16, but then a head-knock in August left him with dizziness, headaches, and fatigue.

Curran, who also suffers from Crohn’s disease, then came back into the side in mid-October, only to be sidelined again by the fatigue which was also exacerbated by glandular fever.

Curran said: "It's been a good break but it's nice to be back, I'm through the worst now and looking to kick on, I've just got to put in the work now to make sure I have a good season"

"It has been a difficult time, there's no denying that, but it's only made me hungrier. Obviously I've been in contact with the gaffer over the Summer just to see how I'm getting on, but now I can just look forward to the season"

"It's just taken time that's all, there was never a time when I woke up and all my symptoms had gone, it's now just reached a point where everything's settled"

The Scouser only had 10 more starts for County after his October return last year - and never featured again after the end of January - as his manager Jim McIntyre looked for him to focus on getting back to full fitness after a number of false dawns.

"I never reached that point (at the end of last season) because my energy levels were still on the floor and I was getting ill"

"Now I'm over that I don't want to stop and I just want to get into preseason, get my legs back, and then get involved on the pitch"

"There's four weeks of preseason so I'll be looking to peak as we build towards the start"

Curran now looks ahead to the preseason trip to Hungary:-
