There's a campaign to help a Moray youngster cope with a rare debilitating condition.

1 year old Kai Urquhart from Buckie has Jouberts Syndrome, a brain disorder which affects his mobility. His family have launched a fundraising campaign for a special sensory play room.

MFR Reporter Derek Ferguson speaks with Kai's mother Lorna about her son's condition and the fundraising campaign...

His mum Lorna Urquhart said: "He couldn't hold his own head up to start with, but now with a lot of work he's able to move around easier.

"There used to be a lot of crying and frustration, but now he seems to be getting on better.

"We'd like to raise about ÂŁ12,000 because the sensory equipment costs so much money.

"Experts say he will go blind, but I would like to hope the more we stimulate his eyes and brain, the better quality of life he will have."

You can donate to the campaign by visiting Kai's Just Giving page.
