Ahead of the Ross County stalwart breaking the record number of appearances for the Staggies, Alex Schalk suggests a lasting tribute to Michael Gardyne

Ross County midfielder Michael Gardyne is expected to reach his 307th outing for the Staggies at Pittodrie, helping him overtake Scott Boyd as the record appearance holder for the Staggies.

Gardyne has had four spells with County, going back to a loan spell from Celtic in season 2006-07, he then signed permanently in January 2008 from Morton. He then moved to Dundee United, having impressed in County's rise up the leagues and their subsequent Scottish Cup final appearance in 2010.

Another term on loan from United followed as he returned to County in 2014, before signing in May 2015 to return to County again on a permanent basis.
