LISTEN: RNLI rescue canoeist from mouth of the Ness
RNLI warn that conditions are still variable as we await the warmer weather, following a rescue by Kessock Lifeboat volunteers on Sunday 24th April at the mouth of the River Ness.
The alarm was raised around 5:30pm when a lone canoeist was seen by a passing vessel who contacted the UK Coastguard.
From the RNLI station in North Kessock the lifeboat made the short journey to the canoeist who was struggling to make any way against the tide and was starting to become exhausted.
Weather conditions were good at the time and the tide was falling. Apart from fatigue the man was in good health and wearing a lifejacket.
