LISTEN: Quick chance for Foran and ICT to regain that winning feeling

Foran highlights a slip into the "old-habits" of Caley Thistle as a reason for their lapse at Partick Thistle in the Premiership

After a 2-0 defeat at Firhill, Caley Thistle have an opportunity to remedy their Premiership setback with their League Cup match at Alloa Athletic.

Inverness created little in Saturday's match against Partick Thistle and it was uncharacteristic of their early season form in the cup matches which had looked so promising.

Manager Richie Foran said: "They did a good job on us - particularly on our wide men - but we've got to come up with the goods and think about how we can get through in other areas"

"We must use our imagination a bit better than we did, but I'm sure that'll happen over the course of the season"

"Too many players had an off-day which'll also happen now-and-again, but we don't become a bad team overnight"

Obviously losing is not something Richie Foran wants to get in the habit of - and having loathed to be on the losing side as a player - the manager's no different now he's in the dugout:

"It hurt me a lot Saturday the first taste of defeat as a manager, but come Sunday morning I was back to myself"

"The great thing is we don't have to wait around for a week and we can just put it right at Alloa, and go and get through to the quarter finals of the League Cup"

But everyone knows what Alloa can do after their 3-2 victory of reigning League Cup holders Ross County, with Foran taking nothing for-granted:

"They've had a great group stage to be fair, conceded less goals than us, finished top of their group, scored four past Peterhead at the weekend"

"That said, I believe in my players, I believe we can score goals, we can be strong at the back, and we have a strong bench now"

Foran believes they can remedy the issues that prevented them taking points at Partick:-
