A walk-out by Porters at Raigmore Hospital has been ‘put on hold’ – say GMB union bosses.

Union officials met with bosses at NHS Highland yesterday to discuss the new rota system for workers at the Inverness facility.

The proposed changes would see alterations to their start times and shift patterns, which the health board claim would “enhance patient care”.

Liz Gordon is from the GMB:

A spokesperson for NHS Highland said: “There was a very constructive meeting this afternoon Monday between NHS Highland and the GMB union. The outcome of the meeting is that the proposed new shift rota will be withdrawn for now.”

“It was agreed further discussions between NHS Highland and GMB will take place with a meeting arranged for this Friday.”
