LISTEN Police issue warning as son of former ICT vice chairman is jailed
Connor Bennett - along with Daniel Hunter - involved in serious and organised crime in the Highlands.
Connor Bennett, the son of former Caley Thistle vice chairman Graeme, has been for a total of 8 years following a long investigation by police into two individuals "hell bent on causing the greatest concern to the members of the public in the local community" according to the officer leading the team. Connor, along with Daniel Hunter who received a 4 year sentence, were snared following a probe by the Community Investigation Unit based at Inverness who carried out a detailed and extensive investigation which resulted in the seizure of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis. Detective Superintendent Colin Carey has been speaking to MFR News:
He added: "The dismantling of this serious and organised crime group has significantly disrupted the supply of drugs to the Highlands and Islands" "It's an important result for Police Scotland as a whole in the fight against drugs and the damage it causes to our communities" All officers involved in this case worked diligently to bring these offenders to justice and the effective partnership working with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service allowed this case to be brought to a successful conclusion"
