LISTEN: Pentland Firth 'Too Dangerous' For Cemfjord Recovery
Brise of Hamburg confirmed no attempt would be made to retrieve the wreck which sank in the Pentland Firth last month.
A ship wreck at the bottom of the Pentland Firth will be left as a sea grave for its missing crew.
8 men were lost when the Cemfjord sank off the Wick coast last month.
The vessel's owners Brise of Hamburg say no attempt will be made at a recovery operation.
We speak to Brise of Hamburg spokesperson Tony Redding about the vessel...
Spokesperson Tony Redding said: "The vessel is deep water, well over 200ft, and she doesn't present any hazard to navigation.
"We've been speaking to specialists and they say it would be too dangerous to send a diving team down.
"There doesn't appear to be anyway to access the ship, according robot surveys.
"Currents in the area are very strong with poor visibility.
"It's felt that it wouldn't be right to ask people to risk their lives for a potential recovery of the crew.
"It's for that reason that we've concluded this wreck should not be disturbed."
A memorial service for the men is to be held in Poland later this month.
