Pheasant causes epic delay for Inverness to Aberdeen train

Published 9th Mar 2016

A pheasant hitting the 05:54 Inverness to Aberdeen train caused severe travel issues for commuters today.

It happened between Huntly and Insch as the bird dislodged an air pipe and, as a result, the train was unable to proceed.

Stagecoach accepted rail tickets on buses, and additional buses were provided for passengers whose journeys were disrupted due to the incident.

Leanne Carter from Portgordon got on at Keith and was traveling to Aberdeen. She felt the train come to a halt "about two or three miles outside Insch"

Leanne takes up the story from the evacuation:-
