Could a Scottish Cup moneyspinner await the winners from the Third Round
Saturday sees the Third Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup with four Highland League sides in the mix, along with League Two Elgin City.
The SHFL front-runners Buckie Thistle face Championship side Dunfermline at Victoria Park, with the Jags fresh from their 5-1 hammering of Clach. Buckie routed Gretna 2008 6-2 in their last cup outing as once again John McLeod was in fine form, netting five.
Formartine in fourth welcome Annan who last week won 1-0 at home to Elgin City. United were out of action last weekend due to a postponement.
Forres face League One basement side Stenhousemuir, with Charlie Rowley hoping the Can-Cans can again get a big money cup-tie, having seen his side run Rangers close in 2012.
Rowley said: "We were fortunate to get Rangers in the Second Round when they were in League Two"
"It should be an incentive for us to win through, as the next round is when all the top teams come into the draw, but we'll need to perform well-above our capabilities"
"It was imperative for us to get a home draw, against what is perhaps a League One side who've not performed to the best of their abilities - perhaps low in confidence - but we do realise that quality-wise it is a significantly better league than ours"
Elsewhere from the Highland League, Wick head to Stirling Albion, with the Scorries on good goalscoring form over the month of November. Last time out in the Scottish Cup, they defeated Whitehill Welfare 4-1.
For Elgin City the Scottish Cup could provide a welcome break from their disappointing League Two setbacks, having lost 3-2 to Stirling and 1-0 at Annan in recent weeks.
