Chief Superindent Julian Innes begins handover to new Divisional Commander for the Highlands & Islands Philip MacRae

With a new man at the top of North Policing, Phillip MacRae's stepped in as Highlands & Islands Divisional Commander as the handover begins between himself and Chief Superintendent Julian Innes.

Schooled in Inverness, with all his 27 years of Policing in the Highlands & Islands, Philip MacRae started in Tain, before a transfer to Loch Boisdale, also working in Thurso and more recently in the Highland Capital, as superintendent of Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness control rooms:-

For retiring chief Julian Innes (not yet 50 and still in position until August) it's not quite retirement, as he intends to use his time helping a number of charities.

He remembers when he started on the beat back in the beginning of his career:-
