Charity stalwarts among the 90th birthday nominations
Several north charity stalwarts have been recognised in the Queen's birthday honours for their good works.
Highland Cross duo Gerry Grant and Calum Munro have been awarded MBEs.
Alpha Munro has been made an MBE for her work in music, particularly with people who have additional needs in Evanton, Ross and Cromarty.
There's also an MBE for Glen Elliot (pictured) a well-known figure in Elgin Rotary circles. His award took him somewhat by surprise:
"It was about three to four weeks ago when I received the notification, and you think it's a joke, but when you look at an envelope, and you see Buckingham Palace, then it gives you a shock!"
However Glen remains modest about his work and hails a supportive roatary team: "I've been delighted with the support I've received, it's for other people over the years who've worked with me, whether it's running marathons, or work with the rotary, it's been quite moving"
"For me to read the letter, and see it went to the Prime Minister David Cameron and through the process, until this day is quite staggering"
"Elgin Rotary's been staggering, what's been achieved is way beyond anyone's expectations, even in places where there's been disasters like Nepal"
As former chair of Moray Roadrunners, Glen came up with an idea involving this and the Elgin Rotary:-
Among other awards, there are British Empire Medals for Maureen Fraser of Cheerful Chesters exercise group in Inverness and Christine Shearer for her voluntary service in Wick, Caithness and Sutherland.
Dennis Malcolm, MD and Master Distiller at Glen Grant has been made an OBE.
